I’m pretty sure you have all heard that you should drink green tea because of it’s amazing health benefits. But what are those benefits? green teaHere are my three top reasons to why you should drink a glass of this green goodness!

  1.  Packed full of antioxidants: It’s these antioxidants that help fight free radicals in our body. Free radicals are chemicals that have been known to damage our health. What are free radicals? Well, they are produced by the body and aid in the metabolic process (digestion and the conversion of food into energy.) They sound pretty good so far right? However, when too many free radicals are produced, they can become harmful to our health. Where do they come from? They are produced in large quantities when the body is exposed to harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun, X-Rays and rays from radioactive material. This is where nutrition is so important. Every day our bodies have to fight the free radical war taking place inside us. The powerful antioxidants is good quality green tea have been known to help fight harmful free radicals. The leaves are supposedly richer in antioxidants than any other tea because of the way they have been processed.
  2. Supports fat loss: If you normally start your day with a tea and a sugar or two then by swapping to a cup of green tea you have already reduced excess calories that you didn’t need. This swap also promotes consistent energy levels as the sugar isn’t there to give you a spike in your blood sugar levels. The green tea simply gives you a feeling of satisfaction.
  3. Improved brain function: Many articles of research identify similarities between green tea and caffeine believe it or not! The main difference being that green tea wont give you that fast energy kick. Instead it hydrates, energises and gives you a boost in a more calm and effective manor.
